Following his comments, a Chelsea fan described Mount as something of a Thibaut Courtois regarding his lack of loyalty.
They wrote: “He’s officially on Courtois’ books now, by the way.”

Another Chelsea fan felt that Mount had helped United grow and his bond with Chelsea was not as strong as previously thought. They wrote: “Mount is starting to sound a little silly saying he was forced out with his and his father’s comments. It’s because they supported United when they were growing up and this Mr Chelsea character will quickly fade in a lot of people. “At home”‘.

Another fan suggested Mount should be booed when he plays against Chelsea. They wrote: ‘Yeah I’m now cool with boos. He’s genuinely up there with the worst.’

Mount, who is expected to earn £250,000-a-week at Chelsea, will be determined to make an instant impact for United.

Mount has started training with United following his £60million move from Chelsea this week.

After joining United, Mount revealed that Chelsea made it clear to him several months ago that he wasn’t in their plans.

‘Several months ago, it became clear I wasn’t in Chelsea’s plans going forward and once I knew United were involved my decision was made up,’ he told MUTV.

‘Massive club, huge iconic players that have played here and I wanted to be part of that from the beginning. Getting here early ready for pre-season to start was a main objective of mine as well.’

Mount stated that he draws inspiration from the likes of Beckham and Ronaldo.

He said: ‘So many iconic players have played for this club and watching them as a youngster and also being a fan of them, it is very special to be here. This is what I’ve worked a long, long time for and it is so exciting.

‘I had a lot of idols. Ronaldo, you see the little video of me when I was younger. I loved watching him play. Becks [David Beckham] was also a massive inspiration of mine, I was in awe of his free-kick technique. You take bits of inspiration from different players.’

Although Mount spent 18 years at Chelsea he felt that it was the right decision to leave the club
