Liverpool players come back from the 0-0 draw against Chelsea in Anfield.

Liverpool was awaiting a Premier League victory in 2023 when they were kept in a relentless draw against Chelsea in Anfield.

The two sides lower than the average could not be separated such as the drums which ended the places of the Champions League.

Chelsea thought they had taken the lead in the third minute when Kai Havertz converted into a corner after a crab. However, a review by the VAR determined that Germany had been sidelined internationally.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker then had to make an important save from Benoit Badiashile in the 32nd minute.

The second half proved to be a success. Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez both saved shots for Liverpool, while Chelsea debutant Mykhailo Mudryk came close to being on the bench.

This is how we rated the Liverpool players

1. AlissonBecker-7

Alisson Becker

He made great saves in the first half and did everything confidently with his hands

2. James Milner – 6th

James Milner

Had his blush spared as VAR let the ball go for a corner which resulted in Havertz’s disallowed goal. But showed energy in the first half. Started the second half brilliantly, giving a boost and taking one for the team when he canceled a booking for a foul on Mudryk’s breaker. Substituted in the 72nd minute.

3. Ibrahima Konat – 6

Ibrahima Konat

Generally solid although he may need to take more command from set pieces. A cross in the opening seconds of the first half almost resulted in a shot on goal.

4.Joe Gomez-5

Struggled with Havertz’s movement in the first half. Made a questionable clearance or two in the second period but then interfered with a Ziyech shot. He also caused a real panic with a back pass to Alisson.

5.Andy Robertson-7

5.Andy Robertson

It took a while into the first half before Chelsea were trailed several times. This continued into the second period.

6. Thiago Alcantara – 6th

I tried to pick up the pace with quick passes in the first half, although it didn’t all work out. Also saved a deflected shot. Similar in the second half, but gave the ball away too easily at times.

7. Stefan Bajcetic – 5

Played a glorious pass to release Salah in the first half but was booked for a late challenge. In the second half, he headed a free kick over the goal but looked tired and made poor decisions in possession. Substituted in the 82nd minute.

8. Naby Keita – 5

Played a great pass with the outside of his boot for Salah but not enough from him in the first 45 minutes. A shot on target was blocked in the second half before coming on as a substitute in the 63rd minute. 9. Harvey Elliot – 5

Struggled down the left flank in the first half, although a cross into the Chelsea penalty area caused some panic. Slightly better when he moved into a central role before coming on in the 82nd minute.

10. Cody Gakpo – 5

Made two attempts well over the bar in the first half. He forced Kepa into a save after the break but had a difficult afternoon. Substituted in the 82nd minute.

11. Mo Salah – 4

Difficulty getting involved in the first half. Missed a volley before Salah fired a high shot. Not enough in the second period when a moment of quality was needed.

12. Sub 1 – Darwin Nunez – 6

He has given Liverpool a lot more threat with pace than he has. He opened holes and caused problems for Chelsea, easily saving a try.

13. Sub 2 – Trent Alexander Arnold – 6

Helped Liverpool get ahead and almost scored the winner.

14. Sub 3 – Curtis Jones – N/A

15. Sub 4 – Fabinho – N/A

16. Sub 5 – Jordan Henderson – N/A
