Jude Bellingham transfer meeting set as Liverpool see possibilities of signing him
Borussia Dortmund midfielder and England international Jude Bellingham is set to make a big move this summer, with Real Madrid and Liverpool leading the charge.
Jude Bellingham is set to hold a key transfer meeting with Borussia Dortmund after hinting to Real Madrid that he would prefer a move to the Spanish giants over a move to the Premier League.
His starring role for England at the World Cup last month saw the Reds increase their interest in signing Bellingham, whose transfer rating continues to rise. A move in January is out of the question, but Dortmund are ready to cash in on their star this summer.
Klopp admitted things needed to change for the Reds following their humiliating three-goal defeat at Brighton on Saturday. He is eyeing a summer revamp of the squad after insisting he would not be “too loyal” to the players as he would replace them when he could, which will be the summer semester.
The Spanish giants beat the Reds last summer by signing midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and the Merseyside club are hoping to avoid a repeat. Tchouameni’s signing complimented the arrival of Eduardo Camavinga at Real Madrid in 2021, alongside the continued emergence of Fede Valverde.
Madrid’s options in midfield to succeed Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are already well filled. Liverpool are hoping to expand their squad to find long-term successors to the likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson, with several new midfielders expected in the upcoming transfer windows. A report from Diario AS reiterated that the Spanish capital remains Bellingham’s favourite, and his entourage have already pointed him to Real Madrid. However, there has been no dialogue between a club and Dortmund about a future move.
Bellingham’s father and representative Mark has now scheduled a meeting with Dortmund to discuss the future of the England international at the end of the season. The club will take the player’s preference into consideration when discussing with potential buyers.
Asked earlier this season about his future ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Manchester City, Bellingham explained: “The club has done a lot for me and made me feel welcome ever since I arrived here. he came and gave me the opportunity to also develop.” further. Looking beyond and looking to the future would be disrespectful. It’s not something I think about, to be honest.”
Bellingham previously spent some time with Merseyside playing at Under-11 level. He had a two-day trial at the club’s Kirkby academy and was impressed, enjoying a tour of the facilities, but no transfers materialised. .
Klopp explained of the midfielder: “Bellingham is just brilliant. He plays so maturely, like a 28-year-old. Everyone already knew his skills, but I have no idea what that means for the money. He is very good, exceptional. He had an incredible World Cup.”

situation at Liverpool could be easier as FSG is unlikely to sell the club outright.
This could mean it’s easier to find a wider variety of potential investors, without the same feeling of a tight deadline. “With Liverpool, FSG sources suggest they are looking at a minority deal, which could mean more suitors and a slightly less rigid process. It wouldn’t be as urgent as the Glazers to do it before a certain date. The FSG is 100% behind the club and will review its options.
“There is a lot of noise around Liverpool and Qatar, but I am told by my sources that the interest is either pure rumor or extremely formative. QSI, the owners of Paris Saint-Germain, have not had talks with Liverpool or Manchester United. QIA, who are not related to QSI, some say they are interested, but again I’ve been told there hasn’t been any significant meeting and they certainly haven’t made any offers.
“Nasser Al-Khelaifi could still play a key role, even if he will not represent the QSI directly, he will be well aware of what is going on, but at the moment he has no contact with Liverpool. He will also be rejected at the end of the FSG.
“Saudi Arabia could be someone to watch again for minority investment, and one name in particular is worth mentioning – Mohammed El Khereiji. He made a bid for Chelsea, so he knows this process. Al Nassr: For now though, it’s worth reiterating that there’s nothing concrete in the situation in Liverpool since the FSG’s statement, not much has changed.”
