Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd seek 'quick' deals, Arsenal's Raphinha hurdle, Liverpool

There are just over two weeks left until the January transfer window and clubs are still working hard to secure signings before the 11pm deadline on January 31. Arsenal are trying to find a striker after Chelsea saw him charge in and take Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Blues paid the £88million fee the Gunners were reluctant to pay Shakhtar Donetsk for the Ukraine winger.

Mudryk was introduced to the Stamford Bridge crowd on Sunday and will become Chelsea’s second most expensive signing of all time if all of his add-ons are paid for at Shakhtar. Arsenal have now moved on to alternatives after Chelsea also turned down Joao Felix earlier in the window. Among them are Barcelona duo Raphinha and Ferran Torres, although it is unclear whether Mikel Arteta could sign either player. The Spaniard confirmed after Arsenal beat rivals Tottenham 2-0 in the North London derby on Sunday that he is keen to sign new talent.

Liverpool are another club that could seek reinforcements towards the end of the period. The Reds are desperate for form and are shy of some energetic midfielders, although Jürgen Klopp has suggested further additions – having already signed Cody Gakpo this month – are unlikely.

While Manchester United have brought in striker Wout Weghorst on loan but he could still be in the market to get more business before the deadline. Erik ten Hag’s side were another side who enjoyed a good weekend as they beat Premier League champions and neighbors Man City in the derby at Old Trafford.
