Liverpool 7-0 Man United: Reaction
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool looked like Anfield veterans this afternoon.
Klopp told BBC Sport: “We need results and performances and tonight we have both. The start to the game was super dominant and super flexible.
“A lot of moments in my head where we waited for the right moment. The second half begins as it begins. Two goals, wonderful and from that moment we were flying. We know the result is a monster but the performance was exceptional and that’s what I take.
“A few months ago everyone thought it was a good time to play at Liverpool – you can’t say it publicly but everyone thought it – because they felt we were struggling a lot but now it’s is less a good time, we watched a lot more than ourselves.
“It is important that everyone knows that we are here and that we are still alive.”
Liverpool 7-0 Man United: Reaction
Erik ten Hag spoke about the loss to Sky Sports after the game.
“I have no explanation,” ten Hag said. “In the first half we had the game practically under control. Second half at the start we gave away two goals.
“There was no more team. We didn’t stick to the plan. There were 11 individuals. “I don’t know, it’s really bad. I gave [the players] my opinion. It was unprofessional. You always have to stick together as a team. We didn’t do that. There was no discipline. You have setbacks, but you have to stick together and do your job.
“We made the wrong decisions. It’s not professional for me. I’m really disappointed and angry. We let our fans down. As a team, as a team, you cannot allow this.
“You have to stick together, support and fight for each other. You must defend yourself. We didn’t and to me that’s really unprofessional. “We’ve made great progress, but you see what happens when you don’t meet the standards. What I said in the dressing room is that it’s unacceptable. But it’s also just that. a game.
“We will fight back. This team is strong enough and we will reset and fight back.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is of course delighted with his side’s 7-0 victory and heaps praise on record holder Mo Salah. “No words,” Klopp said. “Spectacular football game. Excellent. We played top-level football against an in-form team.
“The second half the start was pretty good and the finish was pretty good. It’s football, it can happen. It was the push we wanted. This puts us in the right direction.
“Everyone should know that we are still here. It hasn’t been for a while, but tonight was a decent demonstration of what we can be and what we need to be from now on. “
On Salah: “129 goals is crazy. What an incredible number. He’s a special player.
“We appreciate it now, but in the future people will look back and wow, we witnessed something very special.
“Today was all top performances. This is very important to us – 13 games coming up? Lots of points to win. Tonight was perfect.
Liverpool 7-0 Man United: Reaction
Bruno Fernandes has urged Man United to bounce back from their worst defeat this afternoon.
“It’s very frustrating, disappointing, sad because it’s a very bad result. We came here before the game with a different attitude,” he said.
“The first half was really good from us, we had a lot of chances. We controlled most of the first half, I think, they didn’t create much.
“[In the second half] we tried to get ahead and score goals, but we lost our balance. We conceded too much space against a team like that. We have to avoid it.
“The games come thick and fast. We have had setbacks in the past and need to return soon.
“This is Manchester United, we can go down, but we have to get back up.”
