The £88million new signing from Chelsea wowed fans with his clean footwork and superb dribbling in the goalless draw at Anfield and has now set a record after just one game in the English top flight.

According to Opta, Mudryk broke this season’s speed record set by Anthony Gordon in November, with the Ukrainian narrowly edging out the Everton star.
The 22-year-old endeared himself to Chelsea fans even before stepping onto the pitch after being filmed by his personal trainer doing strength and cardio exercises to help him hit those speeds of point.
Performance coach Dima Chapovskyi shared the videos on Instagram with the words: “37.00. It’s not the temperature. It’s Mudryk’s speed against Liverpool’.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez briefly held this season’s top speed record in October when he clocked 36.68km/h against West Ham.

A month later, however, Gordon continued with his Merseyside rival, going only slightly quicker in Everton’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park, in which the youngster scored.

Man City’s target machine Erling Haaland recorded a top speed of 22.50mph, while Mudryk’s Chelsea team-mate Denis Zakaria completes the top five fastest players this season.

Mudryk will also have hit the same breakneck pace in the Champions League group stage, hitting a top speed of 36.7km/h for Shakhtar Donetsk, who top the speed charts with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé.

Mudryk is also said to have hit the same blistering speed in the Champions League group stage, setting a top speed of 22.7mph for Shakhtar Donetsk and topping the list with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
“It’s a balancing act and every game has a slightly different requirement. You don’t always succeed, but that’s the challenge. Mudryk hasn’t played since November, so it would have been a risk to put him on the field, but he got along very well.
He has only had two sessions with us and will improve as he understands us and vice versa. He can get the fans out of their seats. His dribbles are high and he knows where the target is.

“Our job is to help him break into the country and into the team. He and Joao Felix are the best players.
“Coaches don’t magically turn them into good players, it’s just about helping them improve.”

And while it was only a game, Cesar Azpilicueta believes it won’t be long before the newcomer stands up.

“I saw a very focused boy, with great determination and great ambitions,” said Azpilicueta.

It was his first game since November, so it was like preparation for the season for him.
“He’s played 35 minutes at Anfield, so it’s not the easiest debut and I think he’s done brilliantly. “He’s a player who can have that mix between playing good football with his feet and also running, you could see his speed.”
