How many wins is needed for Arsenal to become champions? Predict the Premier League title race
Fans can’t stop counting and talking about how many wins is needed for Arsenal to become champions as the race for the title becomes closer each week.
The fight for the 2022/23 Premier League trophy is shaping up to be a very interesting duel between Arsenal and holders Manchester City
Arsenal have just 10 games left to play this season. While the initial aim was to qualify for the Champions League, there is an even bigger prize to be won in the form of the Premier League trophy.
With 28 games played, the Gunners are eight points clear of defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table.
From today’s perspective, however, Pep Guardiola’s side played one less game as they faced Burnley in the FA Cup quarter-finals last weekend. Meanwhile, Arsenal overcame Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium to recover from their Europa League round of 16 defeat at the hands of Sporting CP, further cementing their belief that they were champions of England for the first time since 2003/04. season.
While it is mathematically possible for seven other teams to win the Premier League title bar an improbable but spectacular collapse, it is likely the contest will be between the Gunners and Man City.
Naturally, Cityzens have been in this situation before. In fact, they’ve gone the distance against Liverpool twice in the last four years, not to mention the drama on the final day of the season in 2011/12 when Sergio Aguero scored THAT 94th-minute goal against Queens Park Rangers.
That said, with City experiencing some congestion between now and the end of the season, that could prove to be in Arsenal’s favor, as Mikel Arteta no longer has to prepare for the European fixtures and can concentrate fully on the remaining 10 games of the campaign ? Well, football.london have already looked at how many points Arsenal need to be crowned champions, but here’s your chance to predict how many wins it will take by viewing the Gunners and City’s remaining fixtures with the interactive widget below.
