This is the beginning of another week. Welcome to our Live Liverpool blog for Monday, February 27. We will be here all day to bring you the latest news and transfer rumors.

Liverpool was only able to obtain one point at Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, but they are back in action this week when Wolverhampton Wanderers will visit Anfild again on Wednesday. We will all bring you rupture stories, the reaction to all the big discussion points in Angel and rumors of transfer from around the world.

Liverpool would be interested in strengthening your engine compartment this summer by capturing the midfielder of the Union Berlin Rani Khedira and the star of Inter Milan Nicolo Barella.

Salah responds to exit request

Mohamed Salah’s agent has rejected the idea that he will leave Liverpool this summer if the Reds fail to secure the Champions League.

A report from Spain yesterday suggested Salah was one of the “key candidates” to leave the club if Jurgen Klopp’s side fail to qualify for Europe’s elite competition next year.

The Egyptian’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has now dismissed this idea, calling the accusation ‘nonsense’.

‘Barella on ‘Liverpool list’

Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella is said to be on Liverpool’s midfield ‘target list’. The 26-year-old helped his current club win the Serie A title in 2020/21 and has been a key player since joining Inter in 2020.

A latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Barella had been “followed for some time” by Liverpool scout Paul Goldrick and head scout Barry Hunter.

The figure Liverpool would be willing to pay ‘remains unknown’, but the above report suggests it could take €80million – ‘if not more’ – to secure his services.

Liverpool are ‘watching’ Kante

Liverpool are ‘watching closely’ Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, who is nearing the end of his contract with the Londoners. The Frenchman’s current deal expires this summer, having joined the club in 2016 following a famous Premier League win with Leicester City.

Kante was a key player during his time at Chelsea but has only featured twice this season due to a long-term hamstring injury.

Football Insider have issued an update on the 31-year-old, saying Liverpool are monitoring the player’s situation closely as Graham Potter prepares for a ‘midfield review’. The report adds that Kante is in ‘advanced talks’ with Chelsea over a new one-year deal, but no deal has yet been agreed.

Salah is one of the “main contenders” to leave if CL football is not secure

Mohamed Salah has been described as one of the “key candidates” to leave Liverpool in the summer if Liverpool fail to clinch the Champions League.

The Egyptian full-back, of course, ended speculation about his future last July after signing a new three-year deal, but he has now been linked to a departure with less than 12 months left on the deal.

A recent report from Fichajes claims that Salah is “willing” to leave the Reds if Jurgen Klopp’s side do not compete in Europe’s elite competition next season.

It would certainly be a major blow if that were the case, although it seems unlikely that the Reds would approve such a deal following the sale of Sadio Mane last June.
Rafael Leao/Luis Diaz ‘swap deal’
AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has been linked with a move to Liverpool, in a deal that would see Luis Diaz go the other way. Italian outlet Calciomercato claim Leao is ‘closer’ to leaving the Italian giants as his current deal expires next summer. With contract talks proving ‘negative’, the report said Milan could ‘listen to offers’ to avoid losing the Portugal international for free in 2024.

Liverpool are among the teams suggested as a possible target for the 23-year-old, with the report adding that Diaz could be used if the Reds try to ‘catch’ Leao. However, Milan would prefer a ‘cash only offer’ and value the player between €120m and €150m.

Jude Bellingham’s social media post hijacked by desperate Liverpool fans

Liverpool fans didn’t miss the chance to send their transfer inquiries directly to midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old starred for Edin Terzic’s side as the unbeaten start to the new calendar year continued with a 1-0 away win at TSG Hoffenheim. Bayern Munich’s comfortable win over title rivals Union Berlin meant that Dortmund’s stay at the top of the Bundesliga was short-lived.

Bellingham remains a target for Liverpool as he continued his meteoric rise after impressing in the German top flight. He added to his praise with striking performances at the World Cup, guiding Dortmund to Champions League knockout qualification after five goals in the group stage. It is a regular occurrence for Liverpool fans to raid the England international’s social media posts so they can gain every advantage in pursuing his signature. Real Madrid and Manchester City are among the clubs named as potential candidates for Birmingham City’s youngest-ever player.

The 19-year-old posted a photo without a caption on Twitter on Sunday after Julian Brandt’s effort in the first half was enough to get the three points at PreZero Arena.
As expected, there has been a lot of influence from Reds loyalists in their attempts to remove him from Borussia Dortmund.
