After bashing Manchester United 7-0, Liverpool hope to break club goalscoring record against Bournemouth this week as they clash. Fan have high expectation and want to know if Liverpool is back in form.

We all remember the goalscoring extravaganza of the last Premier League game between Bournemouth and Liverpool. When the Reds take on The Cherries in the Premier League on Saturday, they will be looking to break the club’s goalscoring record.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have had a bumpy season for much of 2022-23, spending most of the season in the top four of the Premier League table.

The Merseyside giants recently lost 5-2 at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League, putting the team in danger of being knocked out in the Round of 16.

Good momentum from Liverpool against Bournemouth

Liverpool have enjoyed better gameplay of late, picking up 13 points from a possible 15 in the Premier League to close the gap to fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool beat rivals Manchester United 7-0 on 5 March in preparation for a trip to the Vitality Stadium this weekend.
Although Klopp’s side now hold the third-best attacking record in the division, around a third of their goals have come from sensational victories against the Red Devils and Bournemouth in March and August respectively.

A chance to make a new record

The south coast side were then taken on by Scott Parker and Liverpool impressively defeated them 9-0. This result set the English off two days later.

Liverpool now have a chance to break a long-standing club record after finishing in nearly double figures against Bournemouth last time out. Liverpool will have scored the most goals against an opponent in a single season in their Premier League history if they beat Gary O’Neil’s side by three or more goals.

Liverpool have scored 11 goals in two games in a single season on five occasions in the past, most recently against Ipswich Town in 2001/02. Given that Bournemouth have lost their last seven league games by a total of 28 points. So it’s all against the visitors on Saturday and history is not on their side as they try to prevent Liverpool from breaking that record.

Klopp’s side now have the third-best attacking record in the division, but nearly a third of their goals have come from the dominating triumph over the Red Devils and August victory over Bournemouth by an even bigger margin. Remarkably, Liverpool won 9-0 against the south coast side, then managed by Scott Parker, and led to the departure of the Englishman two days later.
After reaching nearly double figures last time out against Bournemouth, Liverpool now have a chance to break a long-standing club record.

If Liverpool score three or more goals against Gary O’Neil’s side, they will have scored the most goals against an opponent in a single season in their top-flight history.
Liverpool previously scored 11 times in two games in a single season and five times, most recently against Ipswich Town in 2001-02.

History is not in Bournemouth’s favor when it comes to trying to deny that Liverpool have lost their last seven league games with visitors on Saturday by a 28-1 aggregate score. Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino, who recently informed Liverpool he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, scored 12 goals during his spell against Bournemouth.

The Brazilian has made only more contributions against another opponent at Arsenal, registering a strike or assist on 13 occasions.
