Liverpool are reportedly looking to sign both Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

After impressing on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, Morton could follow Elliott’s footsteps to become a first-team player following a successful spell at Ewood Park.

The 20-year-old plays primarily as a defensive midfielder and is highly regarded at Anfield, as is Clarkson. He has been borrowed from Aberdeen and played a key role in her campaign in Scotland and worked in a more advanced role as a Morton.

Now 21 and soon to have a full season with senior football under his belt, Clarkson is another Klopp that can promote and use in the next season.

While the higher wage cost in 2020 and 2021 can be attributed to winning the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020, where bonuses were paid to players and staff, the increase in 2022 was driven by new contract extensions , including those from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk, as well as significantly higher newcomer wage bills than those leaving the club.
