Virgil van Dijk tells Liverpool players the technique to adopt against Manchester United

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk believes a confident and aggressive approach against Manchester United could help the club return to the top four.

Three wins and one draw, accompanied by four clean sheets, mean Jurgen Klopp’s side go into Sunday’s meeting in a much better Premier League position than they did a month ago, when they lost 3-0 at Wolves.
United are the best team in form, with their 23 points accumulated after the World Cup more than any other team, even winning the Carabao Cup last weekend.

But Van Dijk is not afraid of the match at Anfield, saying: “It’s a bit of a match in itself. “It probably gets all the hype that comes with it and we’re the ones who are obviously not in great shape and they’re definitely in shape.

“But we know what we are capable of and we have to be at our best: the players, the fans and all the period that preceded us.
“Everyone should feel responsible for a good result. It’s not easy, it’s not easy for the fans, and you can get a little nervous sometimes, but we need everyone to stand behind us no matter what.

“We could have beaten them there [at Old Trafford in August] but of course we lost [2-1] and that’s the reality. But we have to be confident, we have to be aggressive and can’t wait because you want to perform and show what you can do.

“We will give everything and hopefully it will be a good match from us and we will continue to march towards our place in the Champions League.”

LIVERPOOL TRANSFER NEWS: REDS OFFER LUIS DIAZ IN DEAL TO SIGN PORTUGUESE INTERNATIONAL FOR £130M

Liverpool are reportedly open to offer Luis Diaz in a trade deal for AC Milan striker Rafael Leao, with the Reds keen to sign the Portuguese international.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, the Merseyside club are interested in bringing the Serie A superstar to Anfield in the summer, but with an asking price of €150m, a move would be impossible without some creativity. in an exchange deal for Leao.
Currently out through injury, the Colombian international has been one of Liverpool’s best players since joining from Porto last year, with Ronald de Boer praising the forward as ‘outstanding’ after clinching the Premier League like a duck in water in the previous season.

However, with Liverpool signing Cody Gakpo in January and Diaz’s future now up in the air, a trade deal for Leao could be a great thing from Jurgen Klopp, with the 26-year-old full-back likely looking to move to the San Siro.

While Liverpool’s idea of offering Diaz makes sense, there’s still a good chance Milan will reject the deal, given how valuable a Leao signing is, with a major European powerhouse potentially exceeding the winger’s asking price of 130 million pounds. even. during the summer.

DIAZ SWAP DEAL FOR LEAO COULD WORK IF LIVERPOOL IS IN YOUR SOLE INTEREST

As mentioned earlier, Milan may be betting on securing the full transfer fee for Leao this summer, with the 23-year-old one of the best in the world and a talent who could fetch up to 130m. sterling if a club shows sufficient interest. Otherwise, Liverpool could get away with a swap deal for Diaz.

The Colombia international could be open to a move to Italy following Gakpo’s arrival earlier in the year and with Leao’s ability to play down the entire forward line, the Portugal star could be better suited to rebuilding Klopp than Diaz, despite an Anfield. is preferred.
