“What a deal that would be,” Liverpool fans commented when they received the news

According to Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger, Liverpool are interested in signing playmaker Daichi Kamada from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The reliable German journalist says the Japanese international (whose contract expires this summer) is in the Reds’ sights:

“I heard he’s one of the players on the list for Liverpool. Now they want to build a new team and they have some players, for example Daichi Kamada, I think he’s on the list too.”

As some fans have pointed out, Kamada has also been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund in recent days, but there is one key factor Liverpool can take advantage of.

Dortmund cannot speak to the player directly until the summer, but Liverpool can hold formal talks on signing a pre-contractual agreement straight away.
Kamada is just 26, which means he’s nearing his prime, and he’s a scoring midfielder, something the Reds haven’t had since Philippe Coutinho left Anfield. It is certainly a transfer to keep an eye on.

There is strong interest in Kamada from the Premier League, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all keeping tabs on him. Kamada notably played well and scored against Spurs in this season’s Champions League.

European heavyweights Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been keeping a close eye on his development, while Kamada is also admired by Frankfurt’s Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Kamada has contributed 13 goals and five assists in 27 games for Frankfurt so far this season, lifting them into the Bundesliga title race – they sit just five points behind Bayern Munich – and helping them advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time.

Though usually an attacking midfielder, he has played the majority of his minutes in a deeper role this year and is also capable of playing on the wing.

Jude Bellingham was handed a new offer by Real Madrid after being asked to refuse Liverpool’s move

Jude Bellingham is at the center of a transfer battle with Real Madrid and Liverpool this summer as one of the most prominent clubs watching his situation with Dortmund

Real Madrid will evaluate the long-term futures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos before committing to a move for Jude Bellingham, who has been asked to turn down a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool have credited interest in Bellingham on a number of occasions in the past, with Jurgen Klopp being a huge fan. Meanwhile, rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are also admirers, but it is Madrid who have emerged as favorites to sign him.

Bellingham’s starring role in England’s recent World Cup has led the Reds to intensify their interest in signing the midfielder, whose transfer rate continues to rise.

Klopp said of the Englishman: “Bellingham is just brilliant. He plays as mature as a 28-year-old player. Everyone already knew his skills, but I have no idea what that means for the money. He is very good, exceptional. He had an incredible World Cup.”

Klopp has admitted something needs to change at the Reds and is aiming for a summer makeover of the team, with a particular focus on the aging midfielder. The club missed out on signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid last summer. Tchouameni became the latest addition to Los Blancos’ midfield to complete the acquisition of Eduardo Camavinga last year and the rise of Fede Valverde with the sale of Casemiro, as well as Modric and Kroos in the fall of their glorious career.

A report from Diario AS reveals that Madrid are unwilling to commit to a big swap for Bellingham who could set a world record for a midfielder unless they think at least one of Kroos or Modric will drastically reduce his must-have first team minutes.

Madrid are said to believe that a year later – if Bellingham is out of contract with Dortmund in 2025 – his transfer fee would go down.

With this, they could pay the midfielder a higher salary which would entice him to stay in the Bundesliga for another year.

The Frenchman believes United are now a more attractive offer for the midfield star thanks to his resurgence under Erik ten Hag. When Bellingham was asked about his future ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Manchester City earlier this season, the teenager explained: “The club have done a lot for me and made me feel very welcome since I arrived. and they gave me the opportunity to grow. To look further and into the future would be disrespectful. Honestly, I don’t think about that.”
